Jai Jai ( aka The Jaister) joined the Chantey Cabin at the start of January 2009 from Kidwelly in South Wales after he had been abandoned by his two previous owners and we immediately applied for his Pet Passport so that he could come with us to the festivals in Europe. While waiting for this he enjoyed going to festivals in England, (Falmouth, Scarborough etc). With his passport now issued we set off to Appingedam in Holland where he thoroughly enjoyed himself. BUT on returning to England he was seized by British Customs and Animal Health Officers and sent straight to prison (Quarantine) for six months No appeal, No second chance. The Veterinarian had made a simple paperwork error when completing his passport.
We then started a campaign for an appeal which eventually ended up at parliamentary level and with the help, practical, legal and moral support of our friends all over Europe we obtained a successful release for him !
Jai Jai was released in November 2009 after 10 weeks rather than the original 6 months. He is now a thoroughly spoilt and much loved dog ! He is now ready to take up his place as First Mate in the Chantey Cabin Crew.
